  • Common problems and solutions of circuit breaker tester

    The circuit breaker tester under UHV power can help many power workers conduct various power tests more conveniently.

    1. Check if the working power supply of the instrument has DC output

    Use a multimeter to check the voltage of the working power supply provided by the instrument. If the voltage output is normal, perform other checks; If there is no voltage output, then:

    (1) The fuse on the operation control line is burnt out or the control line is damaged.

    Solution: Replace the fuse or reconnect the control wire.

    (2) The internal power supply of the instrument is damaged.

    Solution: Use the on-site switchgear to operate the power supply, using the "external triggering" method. At the same time, notify the purchasing equipment company to carry out repairs or provide backup instruments.

    2. The switch has a protective lock (such as SIEMENS/ABB)

    Solution: ① Conduct closing/opening tests using the internal power supply of the instrument. The lock must be unlocked, and on-site technicians or manufacturer personnel should unlock it according to the control wiring diagram of the on-site control cabinet.

    ② Use on-site power supply to conduct testing in an "external trigger" manner.

    During a single closing/opening test, the switch works but there is no test data available.

    1. The ground wire connection is incorrect

    Solution: Carefully check the ground wire, reconnect and secure it.

    2. The resistance of the opening and closing coil is too high, causing the load to be too small (usually occurring when the coil current is less than 1A), resulting in the instrument triggering prematurely and not collecting data.

    Solution: Cancel the short-circuit protection function and retest.

    3. No data for closing indicates that the closing control circuit is damaged, and no data for opening indicates that the opening control circuit is damaged.

    Solution: Use a good power control channel for on-site temporary testing. If there is no data when closing, use the opening channel to test the closing. The specific method is to connect the opening control line (green, black) to the closing coil and use the opening control to conduct the switch closing test. After on-site testing, send it back for repair or notify our company to provide backup instruments.

    During a single closing test, the switch is closed and immediately opened.

    1. There is a problem with the switch control circuit.

    Solution: Carefully inspect the switch control circuit and troubleshoot.

    2. Close the control channel and it is damaged

    Solution: Remove the open control line, only close the control channel for testing, and send it back for maintenance after testing.

    The printer can walk on paper but cannot print text/charts

    1. The printing paper is reversed.

    Solution: Reinstall the thermal printing paper correctly.

    2. The heating head of the thermal printer is broken.

    Solution: Send it back to the manufacturer for repair.

    During the speed test, the test results were all vertical stripes.

    Incorrect sensor selection (e.g. universal sensor selects linear or rotational option, linear or rotational selects universal option)

    Solution: Reset and select the correct sensor option.
